Animals

The months of July to September are considered the best, as the grass is lower and the animals are easier to see.
Coast
The summer months from November to March are ideal for coastal regions such as Cape Town and the Garden Route. The weather is warm to hot and ideal for beach holidays, water sports and outdoor activities.
Viticulture
The best time to visit wine-growing regions such as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek is from February to April, when the grape harvest takes place and many wine estates offer tours and wine tastings. Spring (September to November) is also ideal, as the vineyards are in bloom. Summer (December to February) can be hot, but offers many outdoor activities and festivals. In winter (June to August) it is quieter, but some wineries still offer guided tours.
